Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing senior project manager to lead a unique project with significant investment in our second-largest wastewater treatment works.

The successful candidate will contribute to Thames Water's Capital Delivery programme and Turnaround plan, spearheading exciting changes at the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client-side Senior Project Manager responsible for the investment from initial design through construction and completion.
  • Overall accountability for project programme, cost, and quality, leading the project team to meet project objectives.
  • Establish a project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.
  • Collaborate with the external supply chain and drive contractor performance.
  • Support the definition of solutions to meet project objectives and prepare a clear business case.
  • Effective liaison with town planning authorities and critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
  • Contribute to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
  • Commercially manage all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.
  • Take accountability for governance compliance throughout the project's lifecycle, leading to a smooth transition into operational business.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering complex projects in the built environment, infrastructure, or utility industry.
  • An engineering or other relevant degree or qualification within a business or project management qualification.
  • Knowledgeable in managing contract specification preparation, tendering, and tender evaluation processes with experience in negotiation.
  • Demonstrate capability with risk-based and analytical decision-making.
  • Confidence in speaking to all levels of external and internal stakeholders.
