Job Description

GSK is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Real World Analytics Oncology to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing study and protocol designs and statistical analysis plans (SAPs) for the analysis of existing complex health data sets, including real-world data (RWD). You will work closely with Scientists in the Epidemiology and Medical Evidence Generation organizations, and other colleagues as part of matrix teams to translate evidence needs into a robust program of studies to support appropriate access to and evidence for GSK medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of work or individual studies to ensure delivery of quality work products to agreed timelines
  • Share RWD and methodological expertise with asset and TA teams, the broader RWA community, and/or bring that expertise to a matrix team to inform study planning, development, and delivery
  • Lead the development and delivery of analysis of existing or new complex health data sets, including authoring protocol/statistical analysis plan, writing programming code to conduct statistical analysis, critically reviewing approach and results, and summarizing analytic findings
  • Author specifications for analytic data sets for all RWA activities, review resulting deliverables for accuracy/completeness, and ensure documentation is appropriate regarding data manipulation, statistical analysis, and reporting
  • Perform quality control (QC) of work products from other colleagues and provide RWD and methodological expertise to support study teams in out-sourced studies as needed

Requirements

  • MS in a quantitative discipline such as epidemiology, health economics, health services research, health informatics, or biostatistics
  • 3 or more years of experience working with RWD for use in pharmacoepidemiology and/or health outcomes research
  • Experience with biostatistics applied to clinical/epidemiological research and 3 or more years of experience and practical knowledge of statistical/analytic software (e.g., SAS, R, IHD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A good understanding of drug development processes and strategies, with proven ability to apply innovative statistical thinking to meet project and/or business objectives
  • Fluent in written and spoken English to effectively communicate and articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • PhD degree in a quantitative discipline such as epidemiology, health economics, health services research, health informatics, or biostatistics
  • At least 5 years of experience and practical knowledge of statistical/analytic software (e.g., SAS, R, IHD)
  • Prior experience working in oncology within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (preferably in real-world evidence, epidemiology, or health outcomes functional areas)
