We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children within the Reception (EYFS) class. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and engaging learning environment.

Job Overview

The Headteacher and SENCO of an over-subscribed Primary School located in Preston are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to provide support to children within the Reception (EYFS) class. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.

About the Role
  • Support children within the classroom and prepare resources under the supervision of the class teacher.
  • Follow school behaviour policies and use positivity to manage behaviour.
  • Assist the class teacher and report back regarding any changes in behaviour and pupil progress.
  • Follow ECHP's (Educational and Health Care Plan) in place for specific individuals.
  • Undertake general classroom activities ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A positive outlook and ability to relate well with children and adults.
  • Good Numeracy, Literacy and Phonics skills.
  • A good understanding of early child development and learning.
  • The willingness to undertake various training to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Experience of working or caring for children within a Nursery or Primary setting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
