Overview


Yorkshire Water is seeking a highly skilled Telemetry Engineer to join our operational technology team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business-critical BSG services, including Remote Telemetry Units and Communication Systems, SCADA systems, and Programmable Logic Control systems.


Key Responsibilities



  • Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of business-critical BSG services.
  • Maintain engineering specifications and provide a support function to technical leads in validation of solutions and services.
  • Demonstrate awareness of strategic plans and perform an engineering role on technology projects.
  • Identify technical tasks, provide realistic estimates, and adhere to engineering and IT processes throughout the project delivery lifecycle.

Requirements



  • Experience in building and supporting Telemetry solutions and services against challenging business targets.
  • Knowledge of Remote Telemetry Units and communications, SCADA systems, and Programmable Logic Control systems.
  • Ability to absorb technical information and communicate effectively to all levels, both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and demonstrate relentless drive, energy, and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for Yorkshire Water.
  • Possess a strong sense of purpose and proactively seek responsibility and ownership, with creativity and lateral thinking.
  • Highly motivated and self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development and demonstrate a strong customer service ethos.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety policy and safe working practice, including Construction Design Management (CDM) awareness and Control of Works awareness.
