Production Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team at Chess Dynamics Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate production requirements and planning from sales order information.
  • Establish purchasing and production needs to meet time and cost criteria.
  • Plan overall manufacturing requirements on a multi-project basis.
  • Organize kitting for shop-built assemblies and ensure kits are in a suitable state for manufacture.
  • Organize the purchase of necessary components with the supply chain team.
  • Progress purchasing and ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Liaise with production and manufacturing engineering on manufacturing procedures and problems.
  • Assist with the planning of the internal machine shop.
  • Prepare cost-to-date and cost-to-complete reports.
  • Assist with the generation of new procedures, methods, and flow diagrams for the MRP system.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience in the use of ERP/MRP systems.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, or production.
  • Previous experience of production control in a highly regulated environment with electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Background in an engineered-to-order/build-to-order production environment.

Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-term contract

Contract Length: 6 months

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
