AbbVie, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Medical Advisor to join its UK Medical Affairs team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of medical affairs strategies for AbbVie's Neuroscience indications.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a competitive bonus and benefits package.

Job Description

The Associate Medical Advisor/Medical Advisor – Neuroscience will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the therapy area and AbbVie products.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external experts and academic centres.
  • Identifying topics of interest among healthcare professionals and working with collaborative clinical groups to define medical/scientific programs and activities.
  • Providing expert medical input within the Brand Team and with all relevant functions.
  • Executing the Brand Medical Strategy as defined in the medical plan.
  • Contribute to the development and medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers generated by the medical department.
  • Designing and implementing clinical and real-world research projects within defined standards and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • An advanced degree (e.g. PharmD., MD, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent professional experiences.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs within a Pharmaceutical company and experience working within Neuroscience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and oral English is highly desirable to facilitate communications between the affiliate medical department, Regional and International Medical Affairs and other AbbVie functional staff.
