Job Description

As a Technical Assessor for Building Products at UKAS, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality assessments within specific certification areas. This involves collaborating with our team to ensure rigorous assessments and providing expert knowledge in pre-cast concrete products, ready-mix concrete applications, clay and ceramic products, glass products, and other related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assessors will work independently to deliver assessments within set deadlines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients and suppliers.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or Material Science (or relevant vocational qualification).
  • Typically gained experience in a commercial testing laboratory or within the civil engineering field.
  • Familiarity with standards including ISO 17065, ISO 17020, and ISO 17021 is highly desirable.

Compensation

The salary for this role is approximately £70,000 per year, based on experience.
