Job Title: Chemistry Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join our thriving Science Department at a dynamic and forward-thinking school located in the Leatherhead area of Surrey.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for chemistry and the ability to inspire and engage students across all key stages, fostering a love for the subject. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, preparing students for examinations, and contributing to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging chemistry lessons to students up to KS4.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring a thorough understanding of the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school, including extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral care.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT welcome to apply.
  • Experience teaching chemistry at the secondary level, including A-Level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
