Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Greenock. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment.

Salary and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of up to £36,000 per annum, plus overtime
  • Overtime is payable at 1.5 times the hourly rate Monday to Saturday and double time on Sunday
  • A contributory pension scheme with employer contributions up to 6%

Responsibilities:

  1. To carry out inspection and checks on heavy plant and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
  2. To identify any faults or defects and report them to management
  3. To perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and filter replacements
  4. To work independently and as part of a team to achieve targets and objectives
  5. To maintain accurate records of work completed and costs incurred

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical qualification in a related field such as mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principles
  • The ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
