Warehouse Operative Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family-run business as a Warehouse Operative. The company is a specialist supplier to veterinary hospitals and surgeries, and we are looking for a positive and engaging individual to work within our friendly and supportive team.

The ideal candidate will possess good English, Maths, and IT skills, as well as the ability to complete paperwork and count stock items. They will also be physically fit, with manual handling being a key part of the role. Good teamwork and leadership skills, along with excellent communication, are essential for this position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for picking stock items using a hand-held scanner, packing customer orders, processing inbound stock items, and conducting daily housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety. They will also be required to manage goods in calendar, create and execute a plan of what needs to be done that day within the operations, and perform the role of Team Leader in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

* Picking stock items using a hand-held scanner
* Packing customer orders
* Processing inbound stock items (goods-in)
* Stock taking of warehouse items
* Conduct daily housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
* General warehouse duties as required or directed

Required qualifications, knowledge, experience, and skills include:
