Chief Financial Officer at Retail Insights

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Retail Insights. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving our financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of our company.

About Us

Retail Insights is a dynamic and entrepreneurial company that is part of United Media. We are focused on building large-scale industry media and conference products in sectors such as insurance, HR, private equity, retail, and more.

What We Offer

As our Chief Financial Officer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our CEO and be a key player in building one of our portfolio companies. You will be responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to our teams, as well as reporting to investors on a monthly basis and participating in board meetings.

  1. Operational experience in a start-up or scale-up environment, where your work and results will have a direct impact on the business.
  2. Close collaboration with our CEO on financial planning and budgeting, as well as providing regular updates on cash flow and financial performance.

Your Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparing annual budgets and financial plans to ensure effective financial management.
  2. Providing regular updates on cash flow and financial performance to the leadership team.
  3. Conducting monthly P&L and cash updates to ensure comprehensive financial insights.
  4. Evaluating and implementing cost optimization programs to improve financial efficiency.
  5. Reviewing intercompany and external loans to ensure optimal financial health.
  6. Providing support to sales and operations teams on financial matters.
  7. Leading the Working Capital responsibilities and managing the Human Resources Financial Planning responsibilities.
What We Expect

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who possesses an unparalleled work ethic and a high sense of urgency. You should have a relentless drive to be the best at what you do, take ownership of everything you do, and be proactive in following through on commitments. Additionally, you should have:

  1. An accounting background, ideally with more than two years of experience from a Big Four firm.
  2. Experience as CFO, Head of Finance, or Finance Director from a small or medium-sized business.
  3. A UK working permit.
  4. Media and Conferences industry background preferred but not mandatory.
