About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Consultant to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a Urology Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting complex urological procedures, and contributing to the development of our urology service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert urological care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of urological conditions.
  • Conduct complex urological procedures, such as robotic pelvic and upper tract surgery, and other specialized urological procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of urology service strategies, including quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff, including medical students and junior doctors.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to register with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a valid medical license.
  • Completion of specialist training in urology or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong clinical and technical skills, with the ability to conduct complex urological procedures and manage complex patient cases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement.
