About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Global Technical Accountant to join our Group Reporting Team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update our Technical Accounting Policy Manual to ensure it reflects the latest requirements and is well understood across the organization.
  • Support the smooth running of the Half Year and Annual Reporting cycles, including the Group consolidation and preparation of Group HY and FY financial statements.
  • Provide technical guidance and advisory support to finance colleagues across the organization on accounting matters and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Horizon scan forthcoming external industry and accounting developments to ensure that any implications to Bupa are considered on a timely basis.
  • Support the Group's reporting framework by ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and industry/FRC guidance.
  • Engage with the Group's Auditors on technical accounting issues, key areas of judgment, and changes in accounting policy.
  • Work with the Financial Reporting Team to support the practical implementation and embedding of new accounting treatments or accounting standards into Financial Reporting systems and processes.
  • Support the transition of relevant technical change projects into BAU reporting.
Requirements
  • ACCA, ACA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Experience of working in a Technical Accounting and/or Group Reporting role in the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial reporting matters in a language suitable for stakeholders of different levels and public disclosure.
  • An organized and flexible approach to work.
