Job Description

Daytime Healthcare is partnering with a leading private hospital group in the UK to recruit an Orthopaedic Team Leader. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse or operating department practitioner to take on a leadership position and contribute to the advancement of the operating department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Theatre Manager in leading, teaching, and appraising staff to ensure development needs are met.
  • Supervise and educate junior staff, including RGNs and ODPs, and carry out clinical supervision.
  • Contribute to the overall excellence of the Operating Department by promoting clinical care.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise and leading by example.
  • Prepare the operating theatre room for surgery, ensuring waste is minimized.
  • Assess patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
  • Experience of working in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Previous leadership experience is an advantage, but award-winning training and CPD are offered.
  • HCPC or NMC registration.
  • At least 2 years of ortho scrub experience.
  • Passion and drive, with the ability to demonstrate dynamic thinking.
