Job Description

The Digital Twin / 3DV Systems Engineer Senior supports Wood's digital asset and digital twin projects, acting as our subject matter expert in 3DV toolsets and systems, including AVEVA engineering and design systems (E3D/PDMS) and Hexagon digital twin systems (Hexagon SDx).

This role may act as Project Lead, supporting our clients and internal team, and acting as their subject matter expert in information and data management, including 3DV toolsets and digital asset projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support key digital asset projects across the asset lifecycle with reference to their systems, workflows, governance and data hierarchy.
  • Develop governance, standards, processes and workflows to support digital twin projects.
  • Contribute to Digital Twin and 3DV System projects.
  • Define requirements to ensure full alignment with our clients when proposing digital, data or 3DV solutions.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients with reference to their current and future digital, data and 3DV needs.
  • Define scopes for new and / or improved systems, toolsets, processes and workflows in the digital twin space.
  • Develop and support plans for data improvement and migration, including managing and supporting identified gaps in data quality.
  • Evaluate digital twin (physical) project(s) across their lifecycle to ensure delivery against business and client expectations and all applicable OKRs / KPIs.
  • Assess technologies and vendors and provide proof of concepts.
  • Contribute to commercial bids, tenders and quotations.
  • Interface with potential clients to define and win new scopes of work.
  • Interface with existing clients to develop new business opportunities, improvement and growth.
  • Nurture ongoing digital twin / 3DV Systems client relationships and suggest continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University Degree (bachelors or masters) in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering digital solutions in Energy Sector or related field industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience delivering analytics/predictive analytics solutions and/or digital twins.
  • Expert in stakeholder management with experience in managing challenging interfaces and developing strong customer relationships.
  • Areas of Expertise:
    • Deep knowledge of solution and data architecture, data processing, analytics and IoT systems, with strong capabilities across a range of technologies.
    • Demonstrable track record in delivering complex digital twin (physical) projects. This should include creation, testing, deploying and scaling digital twin solutions in the operations environment.
    • Specific experience in digital twins and asset performance management.
    • Able to identify and implement architecture best practices and standards.
    • Technical knowledge to required to lead system and solution mapping, scalability, availability and performance activities.
    • Good people management skills.
    • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Strong communication skills and the capability to communicate and work well with the leadership team, the business, as well as with specialists from related fields, including project managers, database developers, software engineers and data scientists.
    • Agile mindset and understands Scrum methodology (preferred).
    • Excellent influencing and reasoning skills; good at conflict resolution and consensus building.
