Software Engineer in Machine Learning Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at GlaxoSmithKline, where you will be working on developing cutting-edge Machine Learning solutions for Computational Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying robust and efficient AI/ML pipelines, leveraging your expertise in deep learning and computer vision.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with a proven track record of shipping production-level AI/ML products. You will work closely with our team of experienced machine learning engineers, professional software engineers, and board-certified medical doctors to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain AI/ML pipelines for computational pathology, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and deployable in production environments.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to design and implement well-decoupled, modularized, and reusable deep learning training and inference pipelines.
  • Ensure adherence to best software engineering, MLOps, and DevOps practices, leading by example and coaching others as needed.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for the agile ingestion, retrieval, and processing of large-scale histopathology images into AI/ML pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline (e.g., computer science, engineering).
  • At least 3 years of experience as a professional software engineer for AI/ML products.
  • Expertise in Python, with a strong background in developing and delivering robust software solutions, including code testing.
  • Experience with MLOps and DevOps best practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, containerization, and shell scripting.
  • Experience deploying AI/ML solutions with cloud computing platforms and engineering AI/ML pipelines to optimize cloud resources.
  • Advanced expertise in modern software development tools and practices, including agile frameworks.
