Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in an SEN primary and secondary school catering for pupils with autism and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To establish a warm and supportive relationship with pupils, enabling them to feel safe and engaged in their learning.
  • To promote independence and personal development, supporting pupils in achieving their full potential.
  • To work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to ensure the smooth running of the class, adapting to the varying needs of the school.
  • To provide physical support and intervention when necessary, with full training provided.
  • To contribute to the development of pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent.
  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
