Job Title: Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team on a high-profile civil engineering project in the South West. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a complex £100m scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced project manager looking to develop their career on a high-profile civil engineering project. Our client is a market-leading contractor delivering an iconic civil engineering project in the region.

The ideal candidate will have come from an engineering background, having worked on heavy civils schemes, and moved into project management. You will be comfortable leading the delivery of a complex high-profile project, overseeing an experienced team ensuring the scheme is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the lifecycle of the project through to handover
  2. Ensure expenditure is in line with requirements and resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control
  3. Ensure the project is delivered to health and safety guidelines
  4. Manage risk and implement strategy where necessary
  5. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  6. Provide regular updates to stakeholders
  7. Manage a multidisciplinary team including sub-contractors
  8. Oversee cost, quality, and schedule in line with requirements

Core Skills Required:

  1. Previous heavy civils experience, preferably for a tier one contractor
  2. Thorough experience and understanding of NEC contracts
  3. The ability to communicate and manage people effectively
  4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships on projects and interface with operational teams and suppliers

Qualifications:

  1. BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering/Construction Management
  2. Proven experience of working as a project manager on a civil engineering project
  3. Excellent knowledge of health & safety
  4. Hold a valid CSCS/SMSTS card
  5. Experience of working on an NEC project
  6. Strong stakeholder management
