Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to lead an application modernisation project within the Foreign Exchange (FX) division at Henderson Scott UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for transitioning existing Java APIs and microservices on Linux and virtual machines to a state-of-the-art infrastructure using containers with Kubernetes and integrating Kafka for real-time data feeds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a technical strategy for the application modernisation project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy containerised applications using Kubernetes.
  • Oversee the integration of Kafka data feeds to enhance real-time data processing and analytics.
  • Ensure seamless migration of existing Java APIs and microservices to the new platform.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in leading technical projects, particularly in application modernisation within the financial services sector.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, microservices architecture, and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in setting up and managing Kafka data feeds.
