Job Opportunity

Crimson is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team in Solihull.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress and the block editor, as well as experience in PHP back-end development and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to project proposal conversations with the development team, project managers, and designers
  2. Assist with wireframe development
  3. Develop and maintain WordPress based websites for clients
  4. Develop and maintain WooCommerce stores
  5. Develop custom web applications that drive business processes
  6. Cross browser and device testing (inc. debugging)
  7. Monitor health and uptime of servers (no in-depth configuration required)
  8. Collaborate with creative and account management teams to find solutions for client website projects
  9. Contribute to support of current client websites
  10. Participate in company-wide and team meetings
  11. Participate in meetings with clients where necessary (via Teams or in-person when permitted)

Key Skills:

  1. Advanced knowledge of WordPress and the block editor
  2. Good understanding of PHP back-end development
  3. Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  4. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) a plus
  5. Knowledge of version control systems, specifically Git
  6. Logical thinking and the ability to debug code and work through issues
  7. Ability to use Photoshop and Figma to export and optimise assets
  8. An understanding of SEO best practices
  9. Experience using command line utilities on Mac and/or Linux
  10. Knowledge of the latest web trends and open source projects
