Main Job Responsibilities

The Royal London Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and experienced Paediatric Radiologist to join their team as a Locum Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services in general and paediatric imaging.

Key Requirements
  • Completion of subspecialist training in paediatric radiology or within 6 months of completing subspecialist training at the time of interview.
  • Extensive experience in paediatric radiology, including fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will join a team of 73 consultant radiologists, including 7 dedicated paediatric radiologists, at the Royal London Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust. The trust provides one of the largest acute paediatric and paediatric trauma services in London, with over 110 paediatric and neonatal beds.

Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent.
  • FRCR or equivalent.
  • CCST (or within 6 months of date of interview) or on specialist register.
  • MRCP/MRCS.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive experience in general adult imaging, including CT and ultrasound.
  • Experience in non-vascular Paeds IR procedures, such as chest drain and jejunal tube placement.
  • Paediatric hip screening.
  • Knowledge of NHS complaints system and incident reporting.
Training and Development
  • Teaching experience and ability to supervise undergraduates and postgraduates.
  • Participation in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Simulated patient safety training.
