About the Role

The Behavioural Intervention Specialist will work closely with students to foster academic and personal growth in a supportive school setting.

Responsibilities include implementing Behaviour Support Plans, providing one-on-one or small group support, promoting positive behaviour and social skills, and collaborating with teachers and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) developed by teachers and SENCO to ensure consistent management of challenging behaviours.
  • Provide tailored support to help students understand and manage their emotions and behaviours.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students facing behavioural challenges is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in regulating their behaviour and emotions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to contribute to a positive and supportive school environment.
