Zenith Advisory Partners is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to lead our commercial refurbishment and fitout projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive estimates, ensuring our clients receive the best possible value for their investments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and submit detailed bids and tenders for commercial refurbishment and fitout projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive time, cost, materials, and labor estimates, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project progresses, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and formulate estimates, resolving any issues that may arise during the estimation process.
- Interface with other departments to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates, ensuring a seamless and efficient estimation process.
- Develop and maintain a centralized cost estimating database, implementing a formal process to support cost estimating, and utilizing historical data to inform future estimates.
- Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs, identifying the reasons for any discrepancies, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to junior estimating staff, mentoring them to develop their skills and expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the refurbishment and fitout sector.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), is advantageous.
- Strong expertise in estimating software, such as ConQuest, CostX, or similar.
- Excellent numerical and IT skills, including high-level proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of UK construction processes, labor costs, and legal regulations.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and furniture layouts.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Office-based with potential site visits required, depending on project demands. Normal working hours with additional hours as needed to meet critical project deadlines.
