We are currently seeking a highly skilled Food Technology Liaison to join our team at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). As a key member of our dairy research and innovation centre, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and developing activities at our Maker Space / Product Development Kitchen.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in food technology and be able to assist in developing dairy-based products in conjunction with the Strength in Places Project. This 5-year project is led by SRUC, alongside partners from the University of Strathclyde, University of the West of Scotland, and several leading dairy industry companies.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify and work with companies that would benefit from using our Maker Space facilities for new product development and scaling up production. You will also be responsible for liaising with senior-level stakeholders in the food processing industry, identifying their needs, and aligning them with the development and operation of Make Spaces in Appleby and Ayr.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills and experience in food technology and product development, while contributing to the growth and success of Scotland's dairy industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with food processing industry stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Identify companies that would benefit from using our Maker Space facilities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for new product development and scaling up production.

Requirements:
  • Degree educated to SCQF Level 9 or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge in food technology and product development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
