Specialist Paediatric Oncology Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Cancer Care Coordinator to join our team in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to work with children and young people affected by cancer, providing specialist care and support.

The successful candidate will be part of the Diana Children's Community Service, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary oncology team at Regional Oncology Treatment Centres.

About the Role

As a Child Cancer Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating specialist nursing care for a designated caseload of children and young people.

You will work autonomously, visiting patients in their homes and in hospital to ensure continuity of care across all settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert clinical care and guidance to patients, families and healthcare professionals.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with community teams, primary care services and voluntary sector organisations.
  • Maintaining close contacts with identified children and young people on the caseload.
  • Expanding knowledge and practice in the field of oncology to ensure care is responsive to patient needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience equivalent to and/or completion of a Paediatric Oncology Course.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
