Underwriting Director

We are seeking a highly experienced underwriter to fill the position of Head of Underwriting at Camberford Underwriting. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting team, developing and implementing underwriting and pricing strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with the trading team to win and retain business while delivering sustainable results. Additionally, you will provide data and information to carrier partners during monthly meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Key responsibilities include managing loss ratio performance, developing technical and pricing controls, and supporting the Governance team with internal/external audits and product governance. You will also be required to present at Board and Executive Committee meetings when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting leadership within an MGA, insurer, or Lloyd's environment. They should possess 10+ years of UK commercial liability underwriting experience, in-depth knowledge of commercial lines underwriting, and niche scheme experience. Experience in policy wording drafting, stakeholder relationship management, and implementing underwriting and pricing strategies is also essential.
This role offers a competitive salary of £85,000 - £105,000, depending on experience, and is based in Bromley with a hybrid working arrangement.
