Financial Accountant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Wade Macdonald. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in managing General Ledger activities related to the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and providing support during audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual EMEA financial close processes, particularly for UK entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Conduct monthly flux analysis and comment on financial movements.
- Prepare UK statutory accounts under IFRS and coordinate the UK statutory audit.
- Support the preparation of quarterly VAT returns and coordinate tax-related projects.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors for both UK and European entities.
- Evaluate and update accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with technical accounting projects, including lease accounting and financial instruments.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3-5 years of experience. Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems is advantageous, and proficiency in MS Excel is required. The role suits someone proactive, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
