About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a thriving Sociology department and inspire the next generation of critical thinkers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Deliver engaging and rigorous Sociology lessons to students in Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially 5.
    • Design and implement innovative lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and our educational philosophy.
    • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and guidance.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Sociology department and across the wider school community.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches and subject-specific advancements.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A proven track record of successful teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • A deep understanding of sociological theories, concepts, and research methods.
  • A passion for fostering critical thinking, independent inquiry, and social awareness in students.
