About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Railway Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair the land alongside the track network to ensure the railway remains safe and efficient.
  • Specialize in off-track maintenance, including vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver work safely and efficiently.
  • Lead the team when required, using your leadership skills to motivate and direct the team.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills, including knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
  • Safety-focused, with a commitment to safe working practices and a willingness to challenge potential risks.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2, or equivalent experience.
