Job Title: Health and Safety Lead for UK Construction Projects
Location: Nationwide (Ideal location - Yorkshire/Midland)
Estimated Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience
D7 Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Manager to oversee health and safety practices within live construction projects across the UK.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess strong team leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and extensive knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations 2015. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislations, developing and maintaining project documentation, and coordinating contractor activities through permit-to-work systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and address potential hazards, implementing controls to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor health and safety performance, investigating incidents and near misses to inform improvements.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on health and safety matters, fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of health and safety performance, reporting metrics and recommendations to senior management.
- Support the acquisition of new projects by developing relationships with clients and stakeholders, promoting the company's expertise in health and safety management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to enhance health and safety performance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within a live construction environment.
- Full driving license.
- In-depth knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations 2015 and related legislation.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Ability to work varied shift patterns and 12-hour shifts as required.
- Motivated and driven individual with strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Clear and engaging communication skills, able to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to react quickly and efficiently to changing demands and requirements.
