Job Summary:

Vauxhall Motors Ltd is looking for a skilled Toolmaker and Die Fitter to join their team in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Die maintenance: Perform reactive and planned maintenance tasks on dies in the Stamping Unit.
  • Support production teams: Collaborate with production teams during production runs to ensure smooth operations.
  • Problem-solving: Systematically address repetitive issues and faults in the die-maintenance process.
  • CIP - Continuous Improvement Process: Implement processes to improve die maintenance efficiency.
Requirements:
  • A Time Served Apprenticeship in Multiskilled (Tool Makers and Die Fitters) with a minimum qualification of ONC/HNC.
  • Knowledge of automotive outer sheet metal draw dies, line dies, and automation equipment.
  • Skin panel punch repair & surface preparation experience.
  • New die try-out experience & surface quality improvement.
  • Welding experience: Hard & soft facing of trim steels (T.I.G. & M.I.G.).
  • Fanuc Robot, Programming & set-up advantageous.
  • Understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuits advantageous.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation and tenacity.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Estimated annual salary: £44,000-£50,000 depending on experience.
