Job Summary:
Airport firefighter is a critical role within the Windsor, Corporation of the City of that requires exceptional bravery and quick thinking. As an airport firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies in various weather conditions, including fires, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, and motor vehicle accidents.
  • • Responds to emergencies in various weather conditions.
  • • Enters burning or contaminated buildings to stabilize emergencies and perform rescues.
  • • Renders first aid and applies semi-automatic defibrillation.
  • • Drives fire apparatus and performs clean-up.
  • • Assists in salvage operations, fire prevention inspections, and public education activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalency and have satisfactorily completed a medical assessment by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards 1582. Additionally, they will hold a valid Class 'D' Driver's License with a 'Z' endorsement and possess a Standard First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate or equivalent. Post-secondary education in firefighting or skilled trades is an asset.

Estimated Salary: $69,650.85 - $107,155.15 annually. This compensation package reflects the importance of this role and the expertise required to excel as an airport firefighter.
