Role Overview
This position is supported by a Band 6 Communication Specialist and a Communication Specialist Assistant. You will play a vital role in our Communication Therapy Team, focusing on enhancing communication for all individuals. Experience in dysphagia management is a plus. Audit, governance, and patient safety are critical components of our service, and we welcome innovative ideas and approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a specialist and complex caseload, including dysphagia management and training. Conduct assessments, diagnostics, and provide appropriate guidance for all service users referred to LSHG. Assist in planning and monitoring both individual and group treatment sessions as necessary. Collaborate with the LSHG multi-disciplinary team, coordinating and planning efforts with other professionals in specific units. Foster strong communication with external agencies to promote best practices. Provide necessary advice to families. Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, continuing professional development sessions, and in-service training as required. Adhere to current administrative and statistical procedures as mandated by LSHG. Maintain clinical notes in accordance with professional standards and present information during MDT meetings. Stay updated on new techniques and research to enhance good practice, documenting findings in the Professional Log of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Ensure compliance with quality guidelines and care standards. Update statistical information and client records as necessary. Participate in quality assurance and clinical audits as required.Required Qualifications
