Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at Academics Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to work with students aged 6-11 years who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs.

Your Role

  • To develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • To collaborate closely with colleagues and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for each student.
  • To establish and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive and productive learning environment.
  • To monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • To stay up-to-date with best practices and cutting-edge research in special education, utilizing this knowledge to inform and enhance teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

• To contribute to curriculum development, taking into account the educational, social, and physical needs of students within a well-planned learning environment.

• To work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

• To set, review, and monitor personalized targets that optimize learning for each student.

• To report on student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, examination bodies, and funding authorities through reports and meetings as required.

• To maintain professional development through training and research, ensuring effective teaching practices.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Relevant experience working with students with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Familiarity with Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Ability to manage various approaches to behavior, including those that present challenges.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting students with additional learning and behavioral needs.

What We Offer

  • An annual salary range of £45,551 to £60,092, depending on experience, plus a SEN allowance and a one-time joining bonus of £5,000.
