Job Title: Learning Support Assistant


About the Role:


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced learning support assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging learning activities tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Implement and support positive behaviour strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Provide personal care and assistance as required, ensuring the well-being and dignity of all students.
  • Track and record student progress, providing detailed feedback to teachers and parents to support ongoing development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and engagement from all students.

Requirements:



  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Understanding of SEN practices and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Able to commit to a long-term role and contribute to the continuous development of students.
  • A caring and patient nature, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
