About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. - A10. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineering technicians and ensuring the maintenance of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor a team of engineering technicians to ensure they are working in a safe, standard, and efficient manner.
  • Technical Expertise: Work with the team and the wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions to improve equipment availability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Safety and Compliance: Support the Reliability Engineering Manager in implementing, recording, and auditing safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Training and Development: Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts you own by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
  • Project Management: Organize local projects or support EU-level projects as assigned by the manager.
  • Shift Work: Be prepared to work on shift to maintain a strong connection to the team and daily work.
Requirements
  • Significant Practical Experience: Significant practical engineering experience, including a supervisory role managing people.
  • Technical Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • Multi-Skilled: Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Automated Equipment Experience: Experience of automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Language Skills: Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
  • Health and Safety: Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Computer Skills: Solid computer skills (MS Office, CAD).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialized Engineering Knowledge: Full working knowledge of all specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Center (FC) and Delivery Stations (DS) as well as maintenance and safety procedures.
  • PLC Experience: Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Project Management Experience: Project management experience.
  • CMMS Knowledge: Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Process.
