Job Summary:
As a key member of our Investment team, you will play a vital role in assisting with the launch and ongoing management of externally managed fund propositions. Your responsibilities will include selecting, combining, and monitoring mandates awarded to external managers, as well as evaluating investment strategies and style combinations for externally managed sub-funds. You will also develop relationships with external managers and third-party service providers, and provide commentary on the strategy, performance, attribution, and risk of the sub-fund for inclusion in client reporting documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the selection, combination, and monitoring of mandates awarded to external managers in a consistent and rigorous manner to deliver sustainable outperformance from externally managed pools.
  • Evaluate investment strategies and style combinations for externally managed sub-funds to achieve agreed investment outcomes, taking into account the complementarity of investment strategies.
  • Develop relationships with external managers and third-party service providers, including advisers, consultants, and research providers.
  • Regularly review the performance, attribution, exposure, and risk metrics of the sub-fund/portfolio.
  • Provide commentary on the strategy, performance, attribution, and risk of the sub-fund for inclusion in client reporting documentation.
  • Assist in the management of portfolios/sub-funds within investment guidelines and defined risk parameters.
  • Undertake fundamental research to support Strategic and Dynamic Asset Allocation decisions/forums.
  • Participate actively in investment team meetings, both external management and wider firm.
  • Engage with the research, responsible investment, and portfolio risk teams to ensure an integrated investment approach.

Requirements:
  • CFA Qualified and relevant experience in asset management, manager research, and oversight, with a strong understanding of asset classes and economic fundamentals.
  • Understanding of Qualitative & Quantitative Due Diligence.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, PowerBI, eVestment, and other portfolio management tools.
