Production Director - A Strategic Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Production Director to join our client's senior leadership team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for driving operational performance, improving efficiency, and enhancing profitability across the manufacturing function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive production strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements across the manufacturing function
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Drive operational performance across the business to increase efficiency and enhance profitability
  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and development strategies are in place
  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met or exceeded
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and evaluations
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve production processes and reduce waste
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer specifications
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and systems
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the production department

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a comparably sized industrial engineering business
  • Proven track record of successfully transforming and enhancing manufacturing functions
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies
  • NEBOSH and safety qualification would be advantageous
