Job Summary:
The Salvation Army is seeking a motivated and reliable Relief Driver/Retail Associate to support our charity shop operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our van to collect and deliver donated furniture and goods, as well as assisting in the shop with sales and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the van to collect and deliver items of furniture, clothes, and other goods from donors' homes.
- Assist in the collection, lifting, loading, and unloading of goods as required, many of which can be heavy.
- Carry out safety checks on the vehicle and ensure it is kept in good working order.
- Plan journeys to minimize mileage and utilize the most time-effective routes.
- Assist with the preparation of furniture for sale and display goods within the shop.
- Provide excellent customer service and promote sales in the shop.
- Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to achieve team goals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of driving a van.
- Collecting and delivering furniture.
- A full, clean driving license.
