Senior Accountant

Northumbria Police is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance Department. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality financial services to support the Force's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and manage the team to deliver comprehensive financial services
- Provide advice and support to senior managers on financial planning and budget management
- Oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance Systems functions
- Manage daily operations, including finance systems, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Produce management reports on debt position and provide KPIs on debt reduction performance
- Hold a professional finance qualification (CCAB, CIMA, or overseas equivalent)
- Significant post-qualification experience in a large complex organisation
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of financial planning and budget management
- Technically competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience of using finance IT systems
- 26 days' leave (increasing to 30 days for 5 years+ service) plus 8 bank holidays
