Job Role Summary

As Design Assistant, you will support the Outlets team in the administration of design tasks, presentations, and studio maintenance. Your responsibilities will include sample management, travel administration, design studio organization, and general office duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample management – maintain organized sample storage and archiving.
  • Travel administration – manage travel costs and bookings for the design team.
  • Design studio organization – maintain a well-organized studio and recommend improvements.
  • General office duties – perform filing, post, and telephone duties, and monitor stationery stock levels.
  • Support presentations and meetings as needed.
Design Support
  • Research – conduct internet and external research on current trends and styling.
  • Range planning – maintain up-to-date range plans and prepare for sign-off meetings.
  • Basic CAD and colouring in Adobe CS4 – support designers and maintain range plans.
  • Artworking – create basic stripes, checks, and prints, and prepare signed-off artwork for suppliers.
  • Fabric and trim folder library – maintain a well-organized library and send colour to suppliers.
  • Support product development – assist designers in communicating with suppliers on the product development cycle.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in fashion design or a related field.
  • Excellent computer skills in CAD, Adobe, Illustrator, Excel, and other related programs.
  • Good eye for detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong team player with a keen interest in fashion, design, and the market place.
