Job Title: SEN LSA with SEMH FocusJob Summary:

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN LSA with SEMH focus to provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies to support students with SEMH needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH difficulties
  • Assist in the development of students' social and emotional skills
  • Work closely with the SENCO to ensure effective support and progress for students
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and relevant legislation
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional training in areas related to Special Educational Needs and SEMH support
  • First Aid qualification
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a school setting with varying levels of noise and activity
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour from students
  • Regular collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
