Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Tutor, you will work with students in SEMH settings, providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

You will work closely with residential care staff, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment that promotes student confidence and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to each student's individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and support students' academic and emotional growth.
  • Work closely with residential care staff, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting tutoring methods as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student confidence and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and their families.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching and supporting young people.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, special needs, or a related field.
