Job Title: Maternity Theatre/Recovery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maternity Theatre/Recovery Nurse to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients in the maternity theatre and recovery areas.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the maternity theatre and recovery areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide expert care to patients undergoing elective and emergency caesarean sections, including scrubbing and assisting the surgical team.
  • Support the recovery of patients from spinal/epidural anaesthesia or general anaesthesia, ensuring their safe and comfortable transition to the postnatal ward.
  • Work closely with midwifery and obstetric teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in the training and development of midwives in scrubbing for emergency caesarean sections.

Person Specification:
  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the NMC.
  • Experience in theatre/scrubbing, with a strong understanding of theatre protocols and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being.
