Literacy Support Volunteer

We are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to support a person with a visual impairment in learning to read.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for reading and a willingness to work with someone who requires extra support.

- Develop a personalized reading plan to meet the individual's needs and goals.
- Assist with sighted guide/orientation as needed.
- Attend training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with visual impairments.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with visual impairments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection procedures.
