About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work in a fast-paced commercial building maintenance environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fabric systems within the building.

As a Senior Commercial Maintenance Technician, you will work closely with the maintenance team to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Your expertise will be essential in providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the building's systems.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial building maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. A level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant trade, such as C&G or NVQ, is essential. Additionally, experience working in a bank, data centre, or commercial office environment would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to Service Desk reactive tasks as directed in accordance with SLAs.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance, minor works, and public health maintenance, including blocked toilets.
  • Investigate and rectify hot and cold air conditioning complaints, including operation of the Building Management System (BMS) and Lighting Control System (LCS).
  • Complete water treatment tasks in accordance with L8, utilizing the water treatment logbooks as directed by the Responsible Person(s), reporting any issues without delay.
  • Undertake minor fabric maintenance works covering areas such as painting, furniture moving, etc.
  • Carry out minor mechanical installations, as and when requested and supervised.
  • Identify, manage, and report any risks, accidents, or near misses in a timely manner.
  • Work with and escort contractors during maintenance visits, ensuring that working guidelines are always followed and assisting with the quarterly inspection undertaken by the water treatment consultant.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to any building alarms received from the helpdesk or BMS, escalating alarms where necessary, and recording all reactive tasks in the shift log.
