About the Role

As an Aircraft Engineering Skills Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our aviation workforce by training and developing the next generation of aircraft engineering apprentices.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that apprentices master fundamental hand skills, tool identification and application, and gain a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems. You'll guide them through the intricacies of airframe and engine component removal and installation, as well as sheet metal repair processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert instruction on essential hand skills, tool usage, and aircraft system comprehension.
  • Mentor apprentices throughout their four-year program, fostering continuous skill development and improvement.
  • Identify and nurture high-performing apprentices, recognizing their potential for advancement within the company.
  • Deliver constructive feedback and performance reports to management, contributing to a transparent and effective training process.
  • Collaborate with the training team to implement innovative teaching methods and enhance the overall apprenticeship program.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes open communication.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical training, ideally within an aviation setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to effectively address any issues or concerns.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • A dedicated work ethic, commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with apprentices from diverse backgrounds.
