Anglican Chaplain

At Serco, we are seeking an Anglican Chaplain to join our team at HMP Fosse Way. The successful candidate will work as part of the Multi-Faith team to ensure that all prisoners can participate in worship and other activities in pursuance of their religious convictions.

About the Role:

• As an Anglican Chaplain, you will provide pastoral and faith-specific care to prisoners and staff.
• You will facilitate and deliver opportunities for worship, meditation, study, and religious programs.
• You will contribute to the development of local policy, procedures, and practice.
• You will provide mentoring and personal support for other chaplains and volunteers.
• You will plan and lead worship, meditation, prayer, and faith-specific meetings.
• You will provide pastoral care to prisoners and help to resolve crisis situations.
• You will facilitate services provided by contractors and volunteers.
• You will acquire and distribute appropriate religious literature, supplies, and materials.
• You will participate in Faith Awareness Training for staff.
• You will take responsibility for your own spiritual health and development.

About You:

• You must have at least 3 years' experience delivering services and activities of your faith within a custodial environment.
• You must have a flexible approach to working.
• You must be comfortable working collaboratively in a multi-faith chaplaincy.
• You must meet the faith/belief eligibility requirements for your chosen faith/belief.
• You must have the ability to fulfill all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English.
• You must have formal endorsement in the form of the license of the Diocesan Bishop.
