Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estate Operations Manager to join our team at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the efficient and effective management of our estate operations, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of safety, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the delivery of estate operations, including hard and soft services, to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
  • Lead on governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to FCDO policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of estate operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that estate operations align with business objectives.
  • Line manage the Assistant Facilities Manager and provide guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day supervision as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of budgetary allocation, spend, and financial reporting, including revenue vs capital spend.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements in relation to Facilities Management and UK legislation.
  • Experience in project and contract management for service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety regulatory requirements as applicable to the built environment.
