We are looking for a skilled tradesperson to join our team as a Skilled Tradesperson - Fabrication and Welding at our Portsmouth Naval Base location.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out trade-specific tasks, including fabrication, welding, and maintenance of naval vessels. The role requires a high level of competence in using a wide range of hand tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be trade competent, with a minimum of 60% skilled against MS Constructive competencies.
• Carry out a Trade specific point of work risk assessment before every task.
• Abide by all Risk Assessments, BAE policies and the law.
• Ensure all tools and equipment used are suitable, fit for purpose and in date for any inspection required.

Requirements:

• Completed an appropriate trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in fabrication and welding.
• Competent in using a wide range of hand tools and equipment.
• Relevant industry experience in Marine, Oil & Gas, Heavy Construction, or Rolling Stock.
